My head has been reeling all day thinking about what new project to start now. I found the handles yesterday and thought about a bramble bag. I did the gauge swatch and decided that a bramble bag with those handles would be a bit too busy for my taste (gross understatement). So now I'm at a loss about what to do with the handles. Maybe fabric is the way to go.
In the midst of this mental debate, I was looking on line at Craftzine, and found a link to this project. I am about to go to San Fran on Saturday to visit SS. She and her family love the bacon. So I decide to make one to take to her. I did not make it a bacon of hate however. It is a bacon bookmark of love.
I don't think I have talked about my trip yet. SS and I try to get together at least once a year. She lives in Berkeley and I live in Mass. Husband usually has business out west, but we like to plan a trip just for us now that the kids are older. Last year we went to NY,NY and it was great amounts of fun. I have been thinking, after a discussion with SM, about pushing my boundaries a bit. So this year we are taking a painting workshop in Carmel for three days with Artista Creative Safaris. While this may not seem like a stretch for some, it is for me. I have a really hard time doing things in front of other people if I don't think I'm good at it. Anyone who knows me knows that I prefer to learn things in the privacy of my own home, preferably with the door locked! So, I'm going to take a painting workshop...With Other People. I'm a little freaked out. SS agreed to go with and there will be wine, and yoga. Does it sound like I'm trying to talk myself down?
So I leave on Saturday and will be gone for the entire week. Husband has procured a laptop for me and I am going to take it with me, just like a big girl. I am planning on blog entries from Carmel. Everyone keeps telling me how beautiful it is. Taking the camera too. I can't wait to see SS. She is one of those people who I can always, always talk to. We met the first day of college and have been friends ever since.
Next subject:(nice segue) Last night was amazing. I'm not even sure how to begin to explain The Care Center. If you are interested, click the link. They are much better at explaining who they are then I could be. It was a truly inspirational evening, with speeches by current students, graduates, and supporters. I have to admit that I am feeling a little bit guilty(again with the guilt, maybe I should look into this) about not contacting more people about it. The friends that came had a great time and were inspired as well. The director talked about fear and the tools they teach the girls to help get them through the fear. These tools are tools everyone should have. It made me think about how I handle fear and how I could better handle it. I also thought about other ways I could help. Those girls are truly courageous. Thanks Care Center.
Now for a technical question for all those bloggers out there. What is the etiquette about linking to someone else's blog? Do you need to let them know or can you just link. I have just been linking. There doesn't seem to be a Miss Manners for blogging and I don't want to piss anyone off.(If there is a guide book let me know, please) Thanks and happy Wednesday!

No one will ever mind if you link to them. :)
Most people (well, everyone) will give you permission to use photos on your site if you're going to talk about them. In this case, be sure to put the photo on your site and don't "hot link" to the photo where they have it on their server because then you're using their bandwidth. Just be sure to ask first.
Totally send me a picture of your bacon of love. I'd love to see it. :)
