Last night not that W and I went to see Byron Katie at Kripalu in the Berkshires. It was absolutely beautiful. I have never been to Kripalu before and the grounds are gorgeous. Katie is doing a whole weekend retreat, but we just went for the two hour seminar last night. I have read some of her books and I am listening to one of her seminars on CD so "The Work" is a little familiar but there is a huge difference when you are sitting in the room listening to people go through their stuff. Katie is really all energy and light, even though the questions are tough. There is lots of laughter and a general feeling of "We're all in this together". I can see how more time in a workshop would be beneficial though. She has a way of cutting through all the background noise to get to the reality of a situation. What is particularly helpful to me is the reminder to stay in my own business. When I can remember that, I am more present, calmer and don't take things so personally.
So on to my business...
I managed to finish the memory book cover this morning before another round of sniffles hit. I keep trying new ways to put a cover on and unfortunately this may be my least favorite but I am hesitating about ripping it out. The more I look at it though, the more dissatisfied I get. So who knows?
I am still knitting away. Really? Yes. 8 down, seven to go. I'm sure you will all be just as happy as I am when it is done. I have to say, it is at the point where it covers my legs and feet when I'm knitting and it is lovely. I've thought about just going on Pottery Barn's website, ordering up a present and keeping the blanket for my chaise, but that's just a fantasy. Eventually I am just going to have to knit one for myself. I'll add it to the list.
