There's not been much making today, mostly delivery and acquisition.
I delivered this baby to a co-worker for her granddaughter. Do those hands look familiar?
While I was making my special delivery, I acquired some more materials for my "secret project". It involves skeins of Rowan Fine Tweed in luscious autumn colors.
I am compelled to go back out to get one more thing, so I can finally finish it. I have been thinking about this project for ages. People at work are probably sick of hearing about it. Sometimes , I just can't help myself. I can't wait to share!
I also couldn't help stopping at the bookstore. I found this great little magazine that I have never heard of before, Mollie Makes. It is full of great pictures, fun ideas and lots of good resources. When I sat down to read it further, I realized it's published in the UK and has lots of adds/articles about shops right where A1 will be for the year. I love when that happens. Of course, the very cute crochet hook helped too.
I also broke down and bought Simple Modern Sewing by Shufu To Seikatsu Sha. I want to learn how to sew my own clothes but I always get stuck, even before I cut out the material. I love the look of these shirts and tunics. The style is so simple and elegant. I'm going to get over whatever the hurdle is, and try my luck, with muslin first, of course!
Stay tuned for some adventures in garment making!
