I woke up this morning early. I congratulated myself for waking up without an alarm, ready to greet the day, early. Did I mention how early it was? I was feeling very pleased with myself, until, over my first cup of coffee, I realized that the time had changed. I was feeling slightly less pleased with myself after that realization, but time is time and I thought I would make use of my extra hour in the day by writing a blog post. Imagine my shock when I started to write and realized that I my have gained an hour but apparently I have lost five months! (At least here in this space, I'm pretty sure I have some memories of the last couple of months.)
It's my manic season and I feel like I've been thinking of the Holidays for a VERY long already. During the summer I was asked to have a go at designing something festive for the cover of Webs Holiday Catalog. Well, the e-catalog is up on yarn.com and catalogs should be arriving in mailboxes very shortly!
I went through a couple of different designs to get them just right for the catalog. I love having all of them around my studio.
And they seem to be multiplying!
(Pardon their state of undress. I'm still working on hats and scarves.)
You can find the pattern page on Ravelry and you can get the pattern Here, if you want to whip up a snow family of your own. Be careful though, the pattern is easy and once you make one, it's hard to stop.
I've also been exploring the world of photography and had the privilege of taking some senior pictures and to be one of a team of photographers at a friends' wedding. I've been learning a ton. Here's one of my favorites.
I also fell down the Pinterest rabbit hole and started transferring some of my photos along with some of the photos taken by the very talented Lindsey at Topham Photo, onto pieces of wood. I don't think it is going to take over as my main crafting addiction, there are so many babies to knit for, but it might be a close second!
I'm also working on a couple of "secret" holiday projects that I hope to be able to talk about soon!
Happy time change! This extra hour has been very productive.
