right back in.
I have no idea where November and December went. I don't even have pictures, of anything, not of Christmas morning and not of any of the gifts I made. I may have been kidnapped by aliens and replaced by a making machine that had absolutely no interest in documentation. I am left with only memories and some handmade remnants. It feels like I just got back, well, a couple of days ago. I regained full consciousness in my stash closet, arms full of these supplies.
Turns out, it's almost February and that means Valentine's making! It's so gray and white outside and these colors are so cheery. I'm a sucker for hearts and pink around this time of year.
When A1 was little we used Valentine's Day as an excuse to do something exciting to help get through the winter, throw a party. A party complete with heart shaped sandwiches, heart shaped cookies, pink and red flowers, pink tea, and mid February fun. We haven't had a Valentine's party in quite a few years. Although, now that I'm thinking of it, it might just need to be brought back, maybe with pink martinis, for the grown ups and a Valentine craft in addition to the cookies.
While I was dreaming of heart shaped things, A3 requested that I make a birthday present for a friend. Since the pinks were out, I tried my hand at a little heart shaped monster. I couldn't find a pattern I liked so, I made one up. This is the prototype and Birthday gift. I found him hanging out in the fireplace.
I'm currently revising the pattern with some degree of success. One of them came out very short and one very tall. We may be over run by these little heart monsters by the time I'm finished!
Very cute. Love your writing, as always :)
And I remember those early Valentine's day parties!

I fully support the adult pink party.

Lynette, I remember the Valentine's party in the Silver Spring house. It was the best in joint ventures considering all the little siblings at the time.
Christy, How can we make it happen!
