Last weekend was a whirlwind, a whirlwind that smelled like peppermint! The week/weekend was full of working on projects, with the last minute addition of a craft fair in December that wants my soaps. Luckily, I had about 28lbs of soap ready to be made into snowflakes, peppermint candies, evergreens, stars and all things winter. They all smell like peppermint and so did the entire house. My kids love when they come home and the house smells like peppermint. There are always shouts of "Mom's making soap!"
(I love the way sun shines through them like stained glass. The whole process is satisfying from melting to clean up. There are very few things I can say that about!)
I also managed to get a new hat knit for A2, he's swimming on a new team. New team=New hat. I thought I was the only one who paid any attention to that but, A2 asked right a away when he was getting a new hat. It warms a makers heart when a 17 year old boy asks for a hat knit by his mom. I've got them well trained!
A1 is in the studio making things too. She's home for a couple of months before trying to return to Europe and she's been knitting up a storm while trying to learn German. I couldn't resist taking a picture of all of the hand knits stacked up.
I'm also busy trying my hand at making some things to sell this season. Let's just say there are giant post-its involved and they are stuck all over my windows! This peppermint scented whirlwind might be swirling around for awhile.
